Ten-time USA Indoor 5 km RW champion Tim Seaman will lead the men's field Saturday at the 2008 USA 5km Race Walk Championships in Kingsport, Tennessee. The 5km championship race is a tradition-laden event, held in Kingsport for the 16th consecutive year.

2004 Olympian Teresa Vaill headlines the women's field. Vaill was the 2008 Olympic Trials runner-up, is a three-time USA Outdoor champion ('04, '05, '07), a seven-time USA Indoor champions ('84-'86, '89-'91, '08), and is a three-time U.S. women's 10 km RW champion.

The 5 km Championship will start at 8:00 a.m. ET, with the women's race up first. The men's race begins at 9:15 a.m. and the Awards Ceremony will start at 10:45.

The USA 5 km Race Walk Championship is the ninth stop on the 2008 USA Race Walking Grand Prix Series (USARWGP). The USA Race Walking Grand Prix, now in its 5th year, is an effort by USATF to crown an overall champion for each competitive year based upon the National Championship schedule of events. Races are contested from 1 mile to 50 kilometers for men and women.
