SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - (August 31, 2006) - The New Orleans Track Club has been awarded an $8000 grant from Running USA. The Running USA Conference 2006 auction proceeds provided the grant money which will be used for drinking fountains in the city park where many runners train.
"We are delighted to be able to help our fellow runners in New Orleans to support the efforts of the New Orleans Track Club to rebuild the Katrina-damaged city. We hope that as our organization grows we will get to a point where our finances are sufficient to provide more grant money for worthy running recipients," said Basil Honikman, Running USA Executive Director.
