Kiplogat, Burangulova win Palm Beaches Marathon

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Charles Kiplogat pulled away in the second half of the race Sunday to win the Marathon of the Palm Beaches.
Former Russian Olympic marathoner Ramilia Burangulova, now 45 and living in Tampa, won the women's race in 2 hours, 49 minutes, 21 seconds -- more than 27 minutes ahead of any other woman in the field.
Kiplogat, a Kenyan now living in Santa Fe, N.M., finished in 2:25:34 in hot, humid conditions, with heat index readings at or over 80 degrees for much of the race. Derese Deniboba of Peekskill, N.Y. (2:28:58) was second and Solomon Kandie of Albuquerque (2:32:08) was third.
Eileen Turenne of Jupiter, Fla. (3:16:38) was second in the women's race, with Shannon Haynes of Barkhamsted, Conn. (3:21:29) third.
Moses Kororia, 17, of Chapel Hill, N.C. won the men's half-marathon in 1:05:34, while Rebecca Tallam -- another native Kenyan living in Santa Fe -- took the win in the women's half-marathon, finishing in 1:17:06.
