ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. - Motion Sports Management (MSM) has announced the return of the popular Bay to Bay Road Race, March 4-6, 2005. The Bay to Bay is expected to draw health and fitness enthusiasts from the Tampa Bay area and the region. Bay to Bay was a landmark race in St. Petersburg for years before being discontinued in 1997. "We are bringing back Bay to Bay because it was so loved in the running community" said Wendy Johnson, president of Motion Sports Management. "The race, the Bayfront Medical Center Health & Fitness Expo, the 5K and fitness walk make this a big community event."
The Bay to Bay weekend event begins with the Bayfront Medical Center Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, March 4 from noon - 6:00pm and Saturday, March 5, from 10:00am - 6:00pm. There will be experts on nutrition, alternative medicine & various types of exercise plus free health screenings.
On Sunday, March 6, the day starts with a 12K Run at 7:30am near Park Street with the Pier serving as the finish line. A 5K Run/Fitness Walk follows at 7:45am, starting and ending at the Pier, and at 10:00am the Children's Races.
