The 2013 SEACREST Race for Preservation, scheduled for Saturday, February 23, 2013 is introducing exciting new features to this well- loved annual event. Established in 2006 with approximately 200 participants, the race has experienced the most growth over the past two years, jumping from 300 runners in 2011 to over 450 in 2012.
Historic Savannah Foundation (HSF) is committed to emphasizing its mission throughout the preparation, execution and celebration of the 2013 event. “HSF, along with the title sponsor, Seacrest Partners, wants to successfully showcase our beautiful city. We aim to educate participants, spectators and the public about the purpose of Historic Savannah Foundation and our on-going preservation efforts throughout the city’s historic neighborhoods,” stated Terri O’Neil, Development Director of the HSF, upon unveiling the 2013 race changes.
In refining the event, HSF has partnered with professional marketing consultants at CSCP Consult, experienced race director Robert Espinoza, and his seasoned team at Fleet Feet Savannah. The improved race course for 5K and 10K will feature a breathtaking route that highlights the historic beauty of Savannah’s neighborhoods. A fun-filled celebration for participants, family, and friends awaits all at the finish line.
Additionally, the race registration fees have changed to offer savings for early birds, military, first responders, students and children under 12 years of age, as well as rates for running groups with a minimum of 10 participants. A new “kiddie run” will encourage participation for our young beginners. Combine the goal of fitness with an appreciation for the beautiful City of Savannah in one exciting event.
Get ready to run the 5k or 10k or, if you prefer, walk the 5k! Race registration is open, starting today September 12, 2012 at Fleet Feet Savannah and Active.com as well the HSF website!
