WASHINGTON, DC - A record 5,808 people registered for the 2007 Army Ten-Miler (ATM) on Opening Day setting an all-time ATM registration record and shattering last year's opening day 2,700 registrations by over 3,000 entries. Race officials reported that online registration is averaging over 100 people an hour and that the 2007 registration pace is eight days ahead of 2006 registration which sold out in a record 81 days.

The 23rd running of the Army's annual running classic will take place on Sunday, October 7 at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. The race was recently named one of the "Six Big Ten Milers to Run" by Runner's World magazine.
Although race officials increased the 2007 Army Ten-Miler running field to 26,000 the Army's annual 10-mile race is still expected to sell out by early June. Those interested in running are encouraged to register early to ensure entry.

"We are thrilled that runners continue to join us year after year for this great Army tradition," commented Race Director, Jim Vandak. "The Army Ten-Miler has a tradition of excellence and we take pride in providing the best race and the best experience we can for our runners," added Vandak.

The online registration page hosted by Marathon Guide.com is both secure and user friendly. The step-by-step application form allows individuals to easily navigate and complete their race registration. For more detailed information, participants can visit the Team or Individual Registration pages on the Army Ten-Miler website. Team captains will use the Team Tools function to register teams, manage team rosters, and purchase pre-paid team entries.
