The Red Sox Foundation has 20 entries that will allow YOU to enter the 2012 Boston Marathon on Monday, April 16th . Numbers to enter the Marathon are tightly capped and hard to obtain. Under the Foundation’s new agreement with the Boston Athletic Association, we can offer an official number to enter the Marathon to Runners who each agree to fundraise or pay a minimum of $5,000 to the Red Sox Foundation. If you are interested in running the Boston Marathon to help at risk children and wounded veterans through the Red Sox Foundation’s programs, please contact Gena Borson today at gborson@redsox.com .

Please note that all Donations for your Marathon Run would be made out to the Red Sox Foundation directly and would be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. You or your donors would receive a tax receipt for your records as well as the thanks from all of us here at the team charity and the kids and wounded veterans who will benefit from your participation in the 2012 Boston Marathon. We also will have special RSF Marathon Team Run jerseys and special events including training tips from team experts.

About the Red Sox Foundation: Founded and initially funded by Red Sox Principal Owner John Henry, Chairman Tom Werner, President/CEO Larry Lucchino and their generous partners, the Red Sox Foundation is the official team charity of the Boston Red Sox. A 501c3 nonprofit, the Red Sox Foundation has won numerous awards for its innovative programs and impact in the community, including the first ever Major League Baseball Commissioners Award for Sports Philanthropy in 2010 and the Scott Patterson Award for “Best Team Charity in Sports” given by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Sports Philanthropy Project.

To join our Red Sox Foundation Marathon Team, visit www.redsoxfoundation.org for more details and the application. Applications must be submitted no later than January 20, 2012.
