NEW YORK CITY (Jan. 22) – Stacy Dragila, 2000 Olympic gold medalist and indoor American Record-holder in the pole vault, and Jenn Stuczynski, the two-time US Champion who last summer broke Dragila’s outdoor American Record, will meet in the 101st Millrose Games on Feb. 1, organizers announced today.

In addition, young American distance star Galen Rupp and New Zealand’s Nick Willis will join five-time winner Bernard Lagat and last year’s runner-up, Craig Mottram, in the Wanamaker Mile. Rupp, 21, is the NCAA 10,000-meter record-holder and the 2007 US Outdoor Championships runner-up; Willis is the 2006 Commonwealth Games gold medalist at 1500 meters and New Zealand’s national record-holder.

Dragila is a familiar face at Madison Square Garden, where the 36-year-old legend has won Millrose seven times. The three-time World Champion (indoors and outdoors) and 17-time US Champion (indoors and outdoors) is beginning a quest to make her third Olympic team.

Stuczynski, meanwhile, climbed into the #2 spot on the world all-time list when she became the first American woman to jump 16 feet, less than two weeks after breaking Dragila’s 11-year
hold on the American outdoor mark last summer.

The 101st Millrose Games, the third stop in USA Track & Field’s Visa Championship Series, is set for Friday night, Feb. 1, at Madison Square Garden. Tickets are now available at Ticketmaster (call 212-307-7171, visit www.Ticketmaster.com or at Ticketmaster outlets); or at the Madison Square Garden box office. For information and a look back at 100 years of tradition, visit the event website at www.Millrose-Games.com.
