INDIANAPOLIS - Defending champions Antwon Hicks and Priscilla Lopes-Schliep will take on many of the world's finest hurdlers January 30 at the 102nd Millrose Games at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

The Millrose Games in New York is the first event of USA Track & Field's 2009 Indoor Visa Championship Series. The event will be televised live on ESPN2 from 7-8:30 p.m., and on January 31 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on NBC (all times Eastern).

Olympic 100m hurdles bronze medalist Priscilla Lopes-Schliep of Canada returns to the Garden after winning the women's 60m hurdles last year in 7.95 seconds. At Millrose, she will face a field of experienced, medal-winning rivals, including 2008 World Indoor Championships silver medalist Candice Davis, 2008 Olympic Games silver medalist Sally McLellan of Australia and three-time World Outdoor Championships finalist Vonette Dixon of Jamaica.

Hicks captured his first Millrose men's 60m hurdles crown last year with his time of 7.53 seconds, finishing just ahead of 2008 Olympic Games bronze medalist David Oliver (7.59). Hicks, who finished the 2008 season ranked #10 in the world by Track & Field News, will do battle with two-time Olympic silver medalist Terrence Trammell, who will look to win the Millrose hurdles title for the first time since his initial triumph at the Garden in 2001. The 2003 Millrose 60m champ, Trammell will also compete in the flat sprint at the 2009 edition of the meet.

Other contenders in the men's hurdles include 2004 World Junior 110m hurdles champion and 2007 Millrose champ Aries Merritt, who ended the 2008 season ranked #6 in the world; two-time NCAA Outdoor champion Ron Bramlett; and University of South Carolina standout Jason Richardson, who won the 2008 NCAA 110m hurdles crown and placed second in the 60m hurdles at last year's NCAA Indoor Championships.

Tickets for the 2009 Millrose Games are now available at Ticketmaster (call 212-307-7171, visit www.Ticketmaster.com or at Ticketmaster outlets); at the Madison Square Garden box office or on-line at www.Millrose-Games.com. USATF welcomes you to pay with your Visa.
