Chief Maloney Memorial Run-Walk to be held on Sunday 4/29

April 20, 2012 - Portsmouth, NH - In conjunction with the Portsmouth Police Department and the Greenland Police Department, Millennium Running will produce the Chief Maloney Memorial Run/Walk to be held on Sunday April 29, 2012 at 10am. This run/walk is in memory of Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney who was killed in the line of duty on April 12, 2012.
The 5.5 mile course will start at the Portsmouth Police Station and finish at the Greenland Police Department. Parking will be available at the Portsmouth Police Station and Portsmouth High School. Bus transportation will shuttle participants back to the start following the event.
Millennium Running is donating all the race services to produce the event and its' corporate partners MVP Health Care, Northeast Delta Dental, BASC, and Centrix Bank have underwritten the cost, so 100% of all registrations and donations will be donated to the Michael Maloney Family Trust.
Registration is available online at www.millenniumrunning.com. The first 400 people to sign up will receive a memorial shirt and the first 1,000 registrants will receive free tickets to the NH Fisher Cats baseball game on May 2nd.
"Hopefully the entire New Hampshire running community will join Millennium Running is honoring Chief Maloney and supporting his family by participating in the run," stated Millennium Running owner, John Mortimer. "Even if people cannot attend, I encourage them to donate by becoming a 'virtual runner'."
