Jenn Stuczynski and Tyson Gay held onto their respective leads midway through USA Track & Field's Outdoor Visa Championship Series following Saturday's Reebok Grand Prix in New York City.

Current American Record holder in the pole vault at 4.90 meters/16 feet .75 inches, set at the adidas Track Classic one week prior, Stuczynski maintained her lead in the women's Visa Championship Series competition, coming off a 4.80m/15-9 vault at the Reebok Grand Prix. After clearing 4.80m/15-9 on her first attempt, Stuczynski took three unsuccessful attempts at 5.02m/16-5.5, a height which would break the current World Record of 5.01m/16-5.25 held by Yelena Isinbayeva of Russia.

Reigning 2007 World Outdoor 100 meter champion and 2007 Visa Outdoor champion, Tyson Gay sprinted further into the lead in the men's Visa Championship Series competition, after clocking 9.85 seconds in the highly anticipated men's 100m dash at the Reebok Grand Prix. Gay, the U.S. leader in the 100m, finished runner-up to Jamaica's Usain Bolt, who ran a World Record time of 9.72, bettering the previous World Record of 9.74 held by compatriot Asafa Powell.
