U.S. Women's Team 8th at Seoul Ekiden; Russia Dominates
SEOUL - (April 6, 2003) - At the Seoul International Women's Ekiden in Seoul, South Korea, the Russia team dominated the event to win by over 3 minutes, 2:18:06 to 2:21:24 for Japan.

For the road relay over the marathon distance, each Russian won her leg (7 overall). The U.S. women's team finished 8th overall in 2:29:14 (out of 14 finishing national teams). The U.S. 4th runner went off course along with several other teams. Anchor leg Cassandra Henkiel of Austin, Texas had the best U.S. leg placement, fourth.
