Welcome to the inaugural NorCal 10-Miler Series. Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) and the Oakland Running Festival have introduced a new 10-mile series of races, the Northern California 10-Miler or NorCal10, and the first event, the Foster City 10-Miler and 5K, will run January 12.

That’s right, its coming up soon so get on the bandwagon—you certainly can’t run all three unless you run the first, so get your plans and training tuned to this new event, put your New Years resolutions in order, and get out to the inaugural Foster City 10-Miler. Be a part of this unique and fun challenge—and a part of Bay Area running history in the making.
Run all three and get rewarded in two wonderful ways: Each race will provide every runner with a useful and valuable premium—Foster City offers a long sleeve performance shirt—and they have a custom commemorative medal (triple trek medal) for those intrepid souls who run all three. Foster City runs January 12, 2014; the North Bay run, or Marin County Run, will go on May 25; and the South Bay 10, or Santa Clara County event, will blast off on August 24.

Each will have an accompanying 5K, and the latter two—town and course to be determined--will offer the same impressive organization and amenities as all Corrigan Sports Enterprises events. In fact, the Foster City 10-Miler fits perfectly with training plans for the Oakland Running Festival on March--, which is Corrigan’s premiere west coast event coming up on five incredible years.

It all begins in January, 2014. After four years of successfully managing the Oakland Running Festival (March 2014 will be the fifth anniversary running) CSE wanted to provide you more opportunities to run with their outstanding event management team, and branch out of Oakland to new cities around San Francisco Bay you may have never run in before. And they felt it was time for some new and innovative events in the Bay Area; the NorCal 10-Miler series is the result.

The series will feature three events throughout the Bay, all accessible by Famous and historic Route 101, each containing a 10-miler and 5k. Each race will provide the same first class amenities offered by Corrigan Sports Enterprises at the Oakland Running Festival including an excellent premium item unique for each race, a fun and festive post race party with food and water and of course complimentary beer.

And the series offers a new and different challenge in the region that ties each community with a 10-mile (and 5K) course. Foster City is fun, flat and fast. You can view the course on the race website, along with many other details about Foster City and the Series: http://www.corrigansports.com/Events/FosterCity10Miler.html

The Foster City 10-Miler kicks off on January 12th at 8:30 a.m. Foster City, nestled alongside the San Francisco Bay midway between San Francisco and San Jose, has a small town, neighborly, comfortable feel to it. Much of the course will follow the five miles of lagoons that wind through town and some of the 18 parks—yes, 18 parks are located in Foster City, a relatively new town.

"We've created a running tour of Nor Cal Communities beginning January 12, 2014."

The mid-Peninsula location, excellent climate (especially for January running) and easy proximity to the East Bay make Foster City a cosmopolitan but restful locale. Given the relatively mild weather many of the east coast friends and relatives will want to fly in to Oakland or SFO and be a part of the inaugural; might be good to get out of the snow for a great race/training run and enjoy a post race brew.

All runners will receive a long-sleeve performance shirt (shown on the website) and will be a third of the way to that unique series medal, which is going to be terrific, I promise.
What better way to start off your new year, and the new 2014 training and racing plan, than the Foster City 10-Miler. Don't hesitate, register today. Keep in mind, if you don't run in Foster City, you will not be getting that medal in August and that will be a pity. http://www.corrigansports.com/Events/FosterCity10Miler.html

Special Savings for You
Special Savings Alert for those running Either Foster City OR Oakland Running Festival—One Week Only: Everyone loves to save money this time of year and CSE is making a LIMITED TIME SPECIAL OFFER to everyone who checks out their races through this article:

Sign up for either the Foster City 10-Miler or Oakland Running Festival between today and Dec. 24 at 11:59 p.m. PST and receive a code for $20 OFF the other event. Taking advantage of this GREAT DEAL will not only keep some extra cash in your pocket (and who couldn't use that this time of year!) but running in January will help with your training for the Oakland Running Festival in March. PLUS, running Foster City will make you eligible for the Triple Trek medal awarded to all those completing each of the three legs of the NorCal 10-Miler series.

Here's how it works: Register for either race using the code GIFT20 between now and Dec. 24. On Dec. 27 those who used the code will receive an e-mail containing instructions on how to save $20 off when registering for their other race, either Foster City or ORF. (Not valid on previous entries. Some restrictions apply. Discount Code WILL NOT be sent until Dec. 27 so don't be alarmed if you don't get it right away.) And remember, registration rates for ALL CSE races will increase by at least $5.00 on January 1, 2014.

The Oakland Running Festival: Your Destination Marathon, and so Much More With three months to go before the Oakland Running Festival you should definitely incorporate Foster City 10-Miler into your training for Oakland.

And speaking of the Fifth Annual Oakland Running Festival, registration is pacing ahead of last year and expected to be another sellout, surpassing 10,000 runners. They will have some special amenities planned for the Fifth Anniversary. And those 5 short years this festival has become a classic. CSE has developed the Marathon, Half Marathon, 4-person Marathon Relay, 5K and Kids’ Fun Run into a very special happening in downtown Oakland.

The ORF is itself part of a series, the California Half and Full Marathon Series. The course will most likely remain the same for 2014. They are slowly transitioning away from the path along Lake Merritt to accommodate the ever growing field. Otherwise you will be treated to the same wonderful attention and services that has made Corrigan Sports Enterprises famous on both the East Coast and the West. http://www.oaklandmarathon.com/

Corrigan Sports Enterprises
Corrigan Sports is also the driving force for the innovative creation of the Baltimore and Frederick Running Festivals in Maryland, which have been highly successful. They are a growing sports management company with a long list of events, clients, and sponsors. They have enjoyed tremendous success with bold innovation and intricate, detailed planning. Their focus is on creating big time running events within unique small-to-medium sized cities that will provide participants with excellent and memorable racing experiences. Oakland, like Baltimore, is rich in history and has enjoyed fast and vibrant growth. Both cities are nested within a larger urban hub, which makes for an exciting and affordable visit and an excellent place to run.

Corrigan Sports Enterprises focuses on the community element of racing, and has fine-tuned the Oakland Running Festival by listening to runners’ experiences and feedback, and making changes based on that feedback. This is why Corrigan Sports events are so popular and growing--they know how to create memorable events geared toward athletes of all abilities. They will apply the same to the NorCal 10-Miler Series, so get on board.
