Paul Low (MA) and Kelli Lusk (CO) earned spots on the 2003 Teva US Mountain Running Team by winning the men's & women's races at the USATF New England Mountain Running Championships.

Held last Saturday in Northfield, MA, the 8.2 mile trail race featured 1600' of climb and descend over a 2 loop course that closely resembled the profile of the World Trophy course in Girdwood, AK. Complete results can be found at the following website:

Saturday's race featured 9 former or current members of the Teva US Mountain Running Team including Paul Low (1st), Eric Morse (2nd), Dan Verrington (3rd), Dave Dunham (6th), Richard Bolt (8th), Kelli Lusk (1st F), Nikki Kimball (2nd F), Julie Bryan (4th F), Suzy West (5th F) and Ryan Pauling
(DNF). Dan and Suzy were also the top masters finishers. Kelli Lusk is also the 2003 US National Snowshoe Racing Champion.

Northfield was also the 4th of 5 races in the USATF New England Mountain Running Series. The following 19 runners have finished 4 races (including back to back races at Kearsarge and Pack Monadnock): Laurel Shortell, Suzy West, Emer O'Donoghue, Richard Bolt, Dave Dunham, Roger Robert, Mike Quinn, Lee Dickey, Steve Viatones, Greg Carson, Richard Stockdale, Stan Kolpa, Walt Kuklinski, George Kocur, Dave Wendt, Fred Ross, Ray Boutotte, Peter Orni & Don Dayton. CONGRATS! 28 runners have completed 3 races and 482 runners have competed in at least one race in the series.

Also held on Saturday, June 7 was another qualifier for the 2003 Teva US Mountain Running Team in Vail, Colorado. The Teva Mountain Games featured the "Spring Run-off", a 10k mountain race with about 2000' of up and down. Simon Guiterrez and Kari DiStefano won their respective races also earning spots on the 2003 Teva US Mountain Running Team. Look for results coming soon at:
