8th Annual USATF-NE Mountain Running Series Well Underway
New England's top mountain runners are training hard to be in shape for a long season of racing.

The schedule for the USATF-NE Mountain Running Series is:
May 24 - Mt. Wachucett - 4.3 miles - Princeton, MA
May 31 - Mt. Kearsarge - 8.5 miles - Warner, NH
June 1 - Pack Monadnock - 10 miles - Wilton, NH
June 7 - Northfield Mountain (New England Mountain Championships) - 8.2 miles - Northfield, MA
June 28 - Mt. Ascutney - 3.5 miles - Windsor, VT

Also look for the 43rd annual Mt. Washington Road Race on June 21 in Pinkham Notch, NH to be the most competitive mountain race in the United States. Mt. Washington regularly attracts most of the top American mountain runners as well as elite athletes from outside the US. For more info go to: http://www.gsrs.com/mwrr/
On July 6 the 25th annual Vail Hill Climb in Vail, CO will be the 2003 US
Mountain Running National Championships.

On August 9 the Alyeska Mountain Race in Girdwood, AK will be a qualifier for the 2003 Teva US Mountain Running Team and will be run on the same course as the World Championships. http://www.wmrt2003.org/qualifier.htm
In September of this year many of New England's top mountain runners will be competing in the World Mountain Running Championships in Anchorage, AK.
