This past weekend saw 22 runners complete the 8.5 mile Mt. Kearsarge Hill Climb (on Saturday), the Pack Monadnock 10 Miler (on Sunday) and the Wachusett race last week. These mountain heroes are: Suzy West, Dave Wendt, Steve Viatones, Richard Stockdale (in his new shoes), Donna Smyth, Laurel Shortell, Fred Ross, Roger Robert, Mike Quinn, Peter Orni, Emer O'Donoghue,
Walter Kuklinski, Stan Kolpa, George Kocur, Jane Goodman, Michael Fairchild, Dave Dunham, Lee Dickey, Don Dayton, Greg Carson, Ray Boutotte and Richard Bolt. WAY TO GO!

Eric Morse won the Kearsarge race in the second slowest winning time ever (53:36) followed by Richard Bolt in 55:06 and Greg Colburn in 55:14. On the women's side, first time Kearsarge runner and 2:48 marathoner Barbara Mcmanus won the race in 1:04:55. Teva US Mountain Team member Suzy West finished second in 1:08:34 breaking the masters record by 6 minutes! Donna Smyth finished 3rd in 1:15:03. In spite of running the race the day before the Pack Monadnock race, Kearsarge still attracted 121 runners - not the fewest in the history of the race. http://www.runningintheusa.com/res03/zmtk0531.html

On Sunday, 189 runners braved the rain, fog and cool temps to run to the summit of Pack Monadnock from Wilton, NH. First time Pack runner and CMS member Rod Veins won the race in 1:06:15 (the slowest winning time ever). Rod was followed by Dave Herr in 1:07:13 and Richard Bolt in 1:07:53. Rod, Dave and Richard were the first of many runners to enjoy a pick-me-up thanks to the Red Bull Mobile Energy Team who drove to the summit to hand out free cans of Red Bull. Suzy West won the women's race in 1:18:39 followed by Sheryl Wheeler in 1:23:52 and Laurie Gaudreau in 1:24:08.
