Eric Morse

Eric Morse (Montpelier, VT) 38, is employed as a draftsman. Morse was an automatic qualifier for the 2003 Teva US Mountain Team based on his victory at the Wolverine Mountain Race, he also finished second at the 7.6 mile Mt. Washington Road Race. He has competed four times as a member of the Teva US Mountain Running Team having been the third US finisher in '96 and second US in '97 and '00, and was unable to attend in 2001 due to travel restrictions. Morse has been named Vermont runner of the year ten times and has won twelve USATF New England road racing championships. Morse finished first at the USATF New England Mountain Circuit 1997, 1999, 2000-2002 and was the USATF NE Mountain running champion in 1998 & 1999. Eric was named the USATF Mountain Runner of the year in 2001. He has PR's of 3:59 in the mile, 14:17 for 5K, 29:20 for 10K and 1:03:50 for the half marathon.

Dave Dunham

Dave Dunham (Bradford, MA) 39, works for the Treasury Department. Dunham finished second at the 2002 Wolverine Mountain Race in Anchorage, AK, and fifth at Mt Washington. Dave has competed on the Teva US Mountain Running Team ('92-96,'98, and '00). He was selected but injured in '97 and '99, and was unable to make the race in 01' due to travel restrictions. Dunham captured the silver medal at the World Mountain Trophy in Gap France (1993), and was the top US finisher in 1992-96, and '00 (2nd US in '98). He qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials in 1992 and 2000. In 1996, Dunham founded the USATF NE mountain circuit, and then won the circuit in both 1996 and 1998 (runner-up in 1999, 2000, and 2001). Dunham was the 2000 USATF Mountain Runner of the year. The multi-talented athlete also represented the U.S. on the World 100K team and was the National Snowshoe champion in 2001 and the runner-up in 2002. Dave has PR's of 14:08 for 5K, 29:17 for 10K, 1:00:53 for 20K, 2:19:28 in the marathon, 2:57:36 for 50K, and 6:46:39 for 100K.

Paul Low

Paul Low (Amherst, MA) 29, is currently studying at UMass Amherst working towards his M.S. in Geosciences (studying igneous petrology and tectonics). In 2002 he placed second at the Vail Hill Climb and fourth at Mount Washington. In addition Paul set a course record in winning the Seven Sister's 12-Mile Trail Race and finished 7th in the USATF New England 10K championships (30:41). Paul was a Teva US Mountain Running Team member in 1999 and 2000 (2nd and 5th US finisher respectively). In 2001 he set a course record at the Mt Toby Trail Run and finished 19th at the USATF National 25K championship (1:19:50). In 2000 Low was the 2nd US finisher at the Challenge Stellina in Susa, Italy, mountain races in Kitzbuhel, Austria and Oberstaufen, Germany and the top US finisher at the International Snowdon race in Wales (finishing 5th overall). He has PR's of 14:44 for 5K, 24:38 for 5 miles, 30:36 for 10K, 1:07:28 for the ½ marathon and 2:26:00 for the marathon.

Dan Verrington

Dan Verrington (Bradford, MA) 40, makes his living as a Cemetery Superintendent. Dan has been selected to the Teva US Mountain Running Team from 1994 thru 2002. Dan has been one of the most consistent finishers for the team during that time. He was the second US finisher in 1994, third US in 1996 & 1998, fourth US in 1997, fifth US in 1999, and he was 2nd US finisher in 2001. Dan won the USATF New England Mountain Running Championships in 2001. In 2002 he was the National 50K champion and was the 2nd US finisher on the 2002 World 100K Championships. Dan lists his PR's as 14:48 for 5k, 30:35 for 10k, 1:05:32 for the ½ Marathon and 2:21:10 for the marathon. Dan finished 17th at the 2002 WMRA World Masters Mountain Running Championships the week following the World Trophy Race.

Richard Bolt

Richard Bolt (Manchester, NH) 32, is the General Manager of a vitamin & nutritional supplement company. Richard was the 3rd US finisher at the 1999 World Mountain Trophy and the Challenge Stellina in Susa, Italy. Richard completed all three of the 2002 selection races, placing sixth at the Wolverine Mountain Run, ninth at Mt Washington, and eleventh at the Vail Hill Climb. He won the 2003 WMAC Snowshoe Series and was the bronze medallist at the 2002 Snowshoe National Championships. Richard finished third at USATF NE mountain circuit in 2002 and 2000. He also competed in the 1992, 1994 & 1998 US Olympic Trials and was All-American for Cross Country Skiing. Richard has PR's of 4:19 for the mile, 14:49 for 5K, 24:48 for 5 Miles, and 31:06 for 10K. He has fully recovered from a bout with Lyme disease in 2001. In addition to being the Mountain Rep for the USATF New England Board of Governors, Richard is the Men's Team Manager for the 2003 Teva US Mountain Running Team.

Nikki Kimball

Nikki Kimball (Elizabethtown, NY) 32, is an orthopedic physical therapist. Nikki made her first trip to the World Mountain Trophy in 2002 where she finished 56th. She finished sixth at the 2002 Mt. Washington Road Race and represented the U.S. in the World 100K Championships in 2001 and 2002. Nikki earned a berth on her first U.S. Mountain Running team in 2001, but was unable to make the trip to Italy due to travel restrictions. Nikki has set course records this at the Mt. Kearsarge Hill Climb (8.5Mile Uphill), the Whiteface Mountain Road Race (8 mile uphill), the Northern Nipmuk 16 Mile, and won the 2001 and 2002 Merrimack River 10 Mile Trail Races.

Suzy West

Suzy West (Putney, VT) 40, is a dentist and made her fourth Teva US Mountain Running Team in 2002. Suzy participated in two of the 2002 US Team selection races finishing third at the Wolverine Mountain Run and ninth at Mt. Washington. In 1999 she was the top U.S. finisher, fourth U.S. finisher in 2000, and was unable to make the trip in 2001 due to travel restrictions. Suzy won the 2000 and 2001 USATF New England Mountain Running Circuits. In addition to being an exceptional mountain runner, Suzy is also an accomplished cross-country ski and road bike racer.

Simon Gutierrez

Simon Gutierrez (Albuquerque, NM), was an automatic qualifier in 2002 based on his victory at the Mt Washington road race, he also won the Vail Hill climb. This was Simon's first time on the US Mountain running team. A recent 5th place overall at the 2003 North American Snowshoe championships. He has been a member of the USA National XC team three times. Gutierrez was an Olympic trials qualifier in the marathon. He is a four-time winner of the La Luz mountain race. In 2000 and 2001 he finished second overall in the Swedish Grand prix circuit. Simon finished fourth in 1999 and third in 1998 at the Mt Washington road race. Simon has PR's of 14:21 for 5K, 29:17 10K, 1:03:47 1/2 marathon, and a 2:18:36 for the Marathon.

Julie Bryan

Julie Bryan (Jackson Hole, WY), works as the Marketing Director and Associate to the Broker at Coldwell Banker, The Real Estate Company. Julie has been on the 2001 and 2002 Teva US Mountain Running Teams. She has finished as the second U.S. runner for the team in both of those years. Julie holds the women's record at all three ski areas around Jackson as well as for the Barr Mountain Trail Race in Colorado. Recent accomplishments include winning the Pemberton 50 K trail race and the Lost Dutchman 10K. Last June while training for the 2002 Teva US Mountain Running Team, Julie's truck hatch shattered severing the tendons in her right arm and cracking her front teeth. The season was completed up until the World Championships in a full arm cast, (and fake front teeth). Julie's goals include running the selection races to make the TEVA US Mountain Running Team, many local races, the Vail Hill Climb, Barr Mountain Trail Race and other running events that simulate the course for the 2003 World Mountain Trophy in Girdwood, AK.
