Imagine running a marathon or half marathon on one of the most spectacular courses on earth; enjoy a flat and fast course along the unparalleled Gold Coast beaches and views. The climate is ideal for running, so set a goal for a personal best. You deserve the best, and you will find it in Queensland; experience an athletic challenge and a wonderful vacation like nowhere else. You can relax after your run on one of those golden beaches with award-winning restaurants to replenish the body and spirit. You could experience a surf club, thrill the family at a nearby theme park, or take to the sea on a whale-watch cruise; perhaps one of the championship golf courses would be on your itinerary.
You will have nighttime walks and views of the southern sky that will be spectacular too—a new sky with constellations not seen in the northern hemisphere. During the day watch the golden sun go from northeast to north to northwest before settling west with gorgeous sunsets. And that sunrise on race morning is spectacular. What an experience! What a way to log a marathon! You are ready for something truly new in a location that is truly awe inspiring; yes, this is the year.
This is one of the most scenic marathons in the world, with much of it along beachside locations and includes beautiful views of the expansive Southport Broadwater. The course is flat and ideal for long runs, as there is normally minimal wind and the temperature is nearly always around 68 to 72F. This is your perfect opportunity to record your marathon on a new continent—Australia, the land down under.
Perhaps you will sign on for a fundraising challenge and have the double satisfaction of doing good while running great. Share the experience with others—25,000 to 27,000 others from throughout Australia, Oceana, and the world.
All finishers will receive a commemorative medal, custom keepsake shirt, certificate of achievement and other rewards to mark the special occasion.
