Don’t hesitate! Get in on the action with several options for participation, and help to celebrate the 10th Annual Reebok Canton Road Race in lovely Canton. The 5K and 10K are mostly forested clockwise loops on Royall, Green, and Washington Streets from and to the Reebok International Headquarters. When you’re there it seems remote, but is actually right off I-95 and I-93, and on Route 138. The Kids’ One Mile fun run and Kids’ wheelchair run, along with volunteer and sponsorship opportunities make this one a true community event that provides something for everyone.
The Reebok campus is located at 1895 J.W. Foster Boulevard, Canton, MA 02021. The grounds are beautiful, a wonderful resource, and this event gives all participants access to it. Participants get a 50% discount on race day for footwear, apparel and accessories at their impressive flagship store.
Post race festivities will be memorable with numerous awards—the typical 10-year age group awards including gift certificates, plus the Team Trophy with involvement of many different teams. Corporations can show their colors and build company morale and pride.
The Kids’ Wheelchair Mile and the Kids’ Mile Fun Run begin at 8:15 and 8:20 respectively. The 5K blasts off at 9:00 a.m. followed immediately by the 10K at 9:05.
There will be a silent auction and a catered post race refreshment area with chips and chowder and more--plus free beer. The kids who participate in the one mile fun run or the one mile wheelchair run will all get free cotton T-shirts.
The registration fee for all is very reasonable and you can save over race day by registering in advance, plus there are student rates for both the 5K and 10K. The first 400 registrations receive a limited edition event T-shirt from Reebok. Pre race number and shirt pickup will be at Reebok Headquarters store the day before or on race morning beginning at 7:15 a.m.
Best of all, thanks to the Reebok Canton Road Race and the Canton Association of Business and Industry (CABI), both non-profit organizations, a full 100% of proceeds after expenses will go to important local charities, including schools, the food pantry, hospitals, public safety organizations, plus scholarships for local high school students. It’s a true community happening.
If you are looking for a delightful fall running challenge, one that will kick start your fall racing campaign, along with the chance to make the community a better, healthier place, don’t miss the Reebok Canton Road Races. Enjoy a beautiful tree-lined course in early fall foliage season.
Join in this racing adventure through Canton and have a look at the Reebok International Headquarters campus! The clockwise loop goes directly past the Mass Audubon’s Blue Hills Trailside Museum and the Blue Hills Ski Area, both on Route 138 or Washington Street and Blue Hill Avenue. This area is very accessible and just off Route 128, but in some spots it seems more like a remote sanctuary.
The 10K and 5K are both very competitive races, and well organized and enjoyable for every experience level, including beginners and walkers.
If you cannot run but still want to be involved, perhaps while friends and family run, then please look into the volunteer opportunities presented. Road Races, including these gems, could not exist without volunteer support.
