Event Highlights
The Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend has something for every member of the family. In addition to the half marathon, the weekend features the Disney The Princess and The Frog Royal Family 5K, Disney’s Royal Family Kids’ Races, as well as a top notch Health and Fitness Expo fit for a princess. Race participants will receive tons of extras including commemorative t-shirts, goody bags, finisher medallions, post race refreshments, and more!

Half –Marathon
The half- marathon is the ideal running challenge whether you are a first timer or a seasoned runner. But this isn’t any ordinary half marathon! What makes this race so special is that you will be in the company of thousands of women of all ages whose dedication, strength and determination will be an amazing inspiration and source of motivation as you zip through the 13.1 mile course. Your spirits will soar as you step inside a world of fantasy and timeless adventure on a fantastic course complete with Disney entertainment and refreshments through the wonderful Walt Disney World Resort. Participants will receive a commemorative Champion Ladies tech shirt, goody bags, specially themed Kodak single use camera, a very special Princess medal, and more. Race photographers will be on hand around the course and at the finish line, so remember to smile for your official Disney Princess Half Marathon photo.

Awards
Disney’s Princess Half Marathon will use the ChronoTrack timing system, assuring accurate results for all. The disposable D tag will be attached to the runner’s shoe before the race. Of course only women are eligible for awards; there are no men’s categories. Women’s open awards are based on gun time and will be presented in the Family Reunion area at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday March 7th. There will be awards for the top three overall finishers and the top three wheelchair winners. Age group awards will be given to the top five in other divisions. Team awards will also be presented. Disney The Princess and The Frog Royal Family 5K
Why not get the whole family involved in the fun and fitness of running? Disney’s Royal Family 5K on Saturday, March 6th, will be a fun-filled event that the whole family can participate in, and the perfect way for everybody to get in on all of the action and thrills. This 5K course through Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort has no shortage of magic and adventure. Participants will receive commemorative finisher medallions, goody bags, t-shirts and post race refreshments.

Disney’s Royal Family Kids’ Races
Kids will get the royal treatment too! Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend includes kids’ races fit for all princes and princesses at the newly re-imagined ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Track and Field. You will be delighted to watch the young ones have so much fun in these just-for-kids races. Get ready to smile with them as those triumphant little faces cross the finish line on Saturday March 6th, 2010. Kids will receive t-shirts and finisher medallions. Disney’s Kids Age Groups include a 12-months and under Diaper Dash for crawlers, a 1-3 years old 100m dash, 4 to 6-year old 200m dash and a 7 to 8-year old 400m dash, or a one-mile run for children 13 and under.

Health and Fitness Expo
Disney’s Fit for a Princess Expo is a 2-day celebration of women’s health, fitness and strength. The Expo will run on Friday, March 5th and Saturday, March 6th and will be located at the Jostens Center, located at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is certainly worth the trip alone! This 220 acre facility hosts more than 170 amateur and professional events each year. This event will include seminars on race training, racing and nutrition, along with the opportunity to experience the latest in running and fitness equipment, nutrition, and apparel. Runners will pick up their race numbers and packets at the Expo as well.

It will feature Walt Disney World and race commemorative merchandise for purchase. Celebrate your Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend achievement like true royalty and preserve your race memories for years to come. Team in Training
The Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancers by funding research, education and patient services. With the support of thousands of volunteers and participants in the LLS’s Team in Training program, Disney’s Princess Half Marathon will help blood cancer patients live better, longer lives. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society uses Disney’s Princess Half marathon as a platform to create awareness of this life-saving cause as well as to raise much needed funds for research. Participants and volunteers have the opportunity to make donations directly at the point of registration or by visiting the race website at www.disneyprincesshalfmarathon.com.
