We don't follow course records and such but if we did I think it's pretty safe to say we had one set tonight. CMS's Paul Noone smoked the field AND made it back in one piece. A remarkable feat considering the number of street crossings, traffic, and lack of traffic control. Not to mention the elephants. What? Elephants you say? That's right. In honor of Paul's victory an elephant parade was launched in downtown Worcester. Coincidently the circus is in town at the DCU Center which works out well because circuses usually have elephants and there happens to be some elephants around so maybe they can pick up a circus gig and score some extra greenbacks for the upcoming holiday season.... Either way we had elephants tonight. Just another oddity to add to the many we've encountered over the last few years. Anybody remember cottage cheese tush? There is hardly a dull moment when we run every Monday night!
Happy birthday to Tracy Flynn of the Shrewsbury Flynn's. Young Tracy celebrated her birthday with a trip to London. Yeah I know, "Look kids, there's Big Ben, there's Parliament..."
Don't miss next weeks exciting episode of running in the dark, when we explore the pitfalls of running through an unlit road construction site. Yes our course is once again under construction. Normally this is a good thing, the wheels of progress spinning wildly and what not, but in our case the construction is on part of our course that was reconstructed just last year. Civil engineer I'm not but wouldn't it make more sense to reconstruct areas of the city that are in desperate need of said attention rather than redoing areas that have just been done? Some government official deserves a dope slap for this mess.
PS. Good luck at the Hartford Marathon this weekend Tracy!! BQ or bust.
