Mine Falls Summer Trail Race Series - Race #1

Race Story:

40 hearty, trail-loving runners braved the rain and menacing thunderstorms to run the first race
of the 2008 Mine Falls Summer Trail Series. Thankfully the steady rain held off until the end of
the race and the lightning stayed close enough to make things interesting, but far enough away
that the racers were never in danger. Brian Beaudoin started off the series with a convincing win
in the 5k with a time of 18.01 and Alex Brown did the same in the 5m while setting a new course
record of 29.12 in the process. On the women's side, Felicia Lomabrdi picked up where she left
off last year with a win in the 5k and a time of 20.56 and Laura Rallis made her Trail Series
debut by taking the 5m with a 45.59 finish.
