Well it is that time of the year when the Somerville Striders Athletic Club makes it's way back home to Somerville for the fall, winter and spring....a new beginning at the Olde Magoun's Saloon took place this evening after 2+ great years down at the Disabled American Veterans Club and it went off in grand style with a nice crowd of runners and that usual group of hangers on who just like to pop in for a beer and a bite to eat!!

Tonight was "same as it always was" and has been since 1995 when "The Big Fella" and his gang of merry men and women latched on to the idea that Somerville, Massachusetts was in need of a weekly Thursday night running race that started and ended at a pub and then what followed was what always should happen at a pub...eating and drinking & folks being merry:>) AND that is what happened tonight down at the Olde Magoun's Saloon...a great 5Km race and then a HUGE crowd of 40+ sitting down to dinner and a few pops!!

Anyway it is great to be back in town..well we were back a few weeks ago when we banged out the joint at Khoury's State Spa with the incredibly successful Big Man Run XII "The Good Times Continue"..the biggest and best of the year down at that old great dame of a joint but now we are back every week and ooooh does that make the hair on the neck of a few stand straight up:>)
