Pretty low key night at the Greyhound, if you consider police chases low key that is.  That's right another Monday Night chase through the calamity that is Kelley Square. The reality is there really never is a low key night at our run. Loads of people out on the street, mostly cheering us on, usually with a look of confusion, as well as lots of traffic to run through. All part of the urban landscape that makes running in the city a good time.
 
It was a battle of the Kevins tonight with Hardiman and Morrisey going head to head. Not since the epic battle between Rita Jeptoo and Jelena Prokopcuka in '06 at Boston can I remember such true grit. This was an eye of the tiger type moment and Hardiman, still reeling from his crushing defeat at this past weekends "Worcester Pub Run", lost by a step. To quote the group of youngsters that heckled myself and a couple other guys as we ran past I offer these word of encouragement... "Pick it up Ladies" !!
 
Running icon Stu Thurston took a tumble before the race courtesy of some of Worcester's fine sidewalks.  As tough runners are wont to do Stu brushed himself off, and slightly battered and bruised, hit the road to run with the rest of the gang.  I'll make the apology for the crappy sidewalks even though I have nothing to do with their state of disrepair, but in fairness I will point out that I had to dodge a dead raccoon at mile 5 at this years "Stus 30K"  so I'm calling it even.   SS
