You really can't have an Irish
event without spuds being included.....so tonight we kicked it up a notch and
some of the wee lass's of the crowd got together to bake and bake and bake (yes
we had loads of cookies:>) and they offered up a nice meatloaf and mashed
potatoes dinner for the post race time tonight within the An Cù Liath Irish Pub.
The Purists out
there and you know who you are..are losing your minds and the little
hair that you have over the lack of negative split talk in this quick
race story but we will get to that stuff later....so back to the really
important stuff like THANKS to SSAC member Scotty
Stevens who took over the reigns of Worcester's weekly
Monday Night Run...while "The Big Fella" was
elephant hunting in India for two weeks!! Volunteers and those willing
to "step up to the plate" once in awhile to help out is
a necessity in this sport and without those willing to "step up to
the plate" once in awhile..the sport would shrivel up to the size
of some of those skinny runners that win Boston every year:>)
Okay now
some negative split talk..Mike "Monday Night" Weinberg controls
the streets of Worcester on Monday Nights now...and it looks like Sarah
Joyce is taking aim at the title for the wee lass's..she needs a few
more wins before we start calling her Sarah "Monday Night"
Joyce but she is on her way...has anyone noticed how more and more
women on a regular basis whup their husbands in a race today??? After 15+ years
in the industry I have started to notice these little nuances amoungst other
things!
The An Cù Liath Irish Pub City Run is every Monday night and if folks from
Agawam, Marlboro and far away lands like
Templeton, Massachusetts can make it then so to can you if you
live in Worcester:>)
