An Cù Liath China the Cat Memorial City Run

"China", the Curley's
feline companion had a vet appointment earlier in the day. Two went into
the office, one human and one cat, only one came out. Guess which
one. Perhaps the writing was on the wall when it was revealed that the
vets name was "Dr Kevorkian". So tonight we celebrated the life of
China. I have to say, from what I gathered this cat was a real pain in
the ass and after 18 years of torturing other animals and other such nonsense
she got what she had coming. RIP China and when you get to that big bowl
of Tender Vittles in the sky say hi to Muffy for me would ya. Muffy
was my childhood cat and now with my juvenile level of maturity I see the humor
in that name.
No too much else going on
tonight other than the creepy guy huddled in the corner with the
computer. I don't know what was going on but if
Dateline NBC shows up next week up......I'm not going to name
names but lets just say the guys name rhymes with Jack
Goolsky.
We also ran and ate chicken,
kielbasa, and an oddly large amount of pasta salads.
Word on the street is that
there is a new weekly run happening. The Shepard Hill 5k is held Wednesday
nights at 6:30 in Dudley. Another freebie run this one is organized by Nancy
Roberts who frequents our run and is rumored to be directing this one in a
bikini. If that is true or not I don't know but you can find this and other
information out by emailing Nancy. nancnar@netzero.net
Also on the
weekly freebie scene is a 3-5 mile group run held out of the PR Running store in
Westborough. Thursday nights at 6:30 pm. This is a good opportunity to run
with some knowledgeable runners and maybe pick up some advice as well
as new gear. This is a great store where you get personal service for
runners by runners. Our Monday night speedster and local running superstar
Mario is employed there.
Most importantly don't
forget about the Canal
Diggers 5km and one mile health walk. This event is the brainchild of Paul
Collyer with assistance from Lieutenant Governor and Worcester homeboy Tim
Murray, who are both working hard to put together a first class road racing
event in a city that is lacking in such amenities. Help bring running back to
Worcester sign up now!
