HARTFORD TRACK CLUB WINTER SERIES RIVERTON/PLEASANT VALLEY RACES, January 21, 2007, Barkhamsted, CT
The estimated temperature was fifteen degrees Fahrenheit. There was a wind from the north that
was strong enough to be painful to some runners as they ran on the east side of the
Farmington River; the races use an 8.57-mile loop that goes up to Riverton on the east side of
the Farmington River, and down to Pleasant Valley on the west side of the river.
The two-loop course record is 1:32:08 run by John Vitale in 1979. The women's two-loop
record is 1:50:19 run by Mary-Lynn Pastizzo in 1990; her name is now Mary-Lynn Currier.
Bill Thramann was the race director. He had assistance from his wife, Leonora, and his sons,
Michael and William. Peter Hawley and David Reik (the author of this report) also helped with
the race.
