A light rain started falling about three minutes before the race began and the runners rejoiced that the rain would cool them off in the 90 degree heat / 90% humidity. Three minutes after the race began, the sky fell - torrential rains like Fall River hasn't seen in many decades -- yes decades!!! Yet still they ran. Only 3 opted for the shorter 1.7 Mile course, while 23 runners ploughed through the deluge to complete the 5K. No course records today... Except for Amy Arruda, who destroyed the old Women's course record by running 22:25. Joshua Berube and Avery Bouchard tried hard to tie for the victory in 19:43, but the panel of judges ruled Joshua the victor by one shoe size.
