RTW newcomer Terrie Littlepage at 1.7 miles |
Gary D. Johnson (Tomball) overhauled Jeff Cochran (Kingwood) was a quarter-mile to go to win RTW 5K #61. Cochran had held the lead from the start. Running in her first RTW race, University of Houston student Terrie Littlepage (Houston) edged another RTW newcomer, Shiara Calmes (Spring), to emerge as the first female finisher. Littlepage and Calmes placed 6th and 9th overall.
Conditions: Overcast; 80-82 degrees at the start; very high humidity; calm.
The next race in the series is scheduled for Saturday, July 27th. The entry fee remains $1.00 (yes, one dollar).
