At 5:00AM, three hours prior to the scheduled start of the race, the temperature was in the mid-70's with overcast skies. During the next two hours, the temperature dropped some twenty degrees and a heavy rain had begun to fall. The heavy rain continued right on through the race, making RTW #47 the wettest - yes, wetter than the race held at the tailend of Allison - in the two-year history of the series.

Gary Johnson (Tomball) led from beginning to end and finished with a one-plus minute margin of victory despite taking a wrong turn which cost him about 45 seconds. Two teenage runners, Elizabeth Voss and Sarah Robinson, both of Spring, were the only two female competitors. The average age of the first four finishers was 51.

A reminder that the next RTW 5K is scheduled for Saturday, December 22nd. The entry fee is $1.00 (yes, one dollar).
