RACE NOTES
- The win was the second for Janet Norem and was her 8th top six finish since her first appearance at this race n 1992. . . Jean Spierling & Mary Stallard both ran in the first WDF race in 1980. . . Wendy Sutter was running for the 6th time. She started in 1992 as a 15 year old Arroyo Grande High School student and went on to run for both Cuesta & Cal Poly.Sponsors: Moving Comfort, Runner’s World, Gatorade, General Mills, Avon, & Ryka Shoes for Women. Prizes included an outfit from Moving Comfort for the women’s winner, Avon product samples for all women entrants, Wheaties sample boxes for all entrants, Ryka gift certificates for pairs of running shoes, Moving Comfort merchandise (socks, water bottles, running shorts, and top), and items from Runner’s World (training logs, water bottles, a hard cover copy of the book "Running for Women", pace charts, and a running cap). Other sponsors included the Electric City Printing Company, Road Runners Club of America and the San Luis Distance Club.
