The winner of each United States venue automatically qualifies for a free trip to compete at the Avon Running National 10K Championship. Other top finishers in the U.S. will have the opportunity to qualify for a free trip to the U.S. Avon Running National 10K Championship by amassing 15 series points prior to the final event in America. U.S. Avon series points are only valid for each calendar season. Each winner of an international event will be considered a national Avon Running 10K champion and this winner will be flown, by Avon, to the Avon Running Global 10K Championship in New York City in the spring of 1999. The National and Global races are open to all women regardless of previous participation.
