The start of the Avon Running - Dallas 10K season opener for the 1999 US Circuit!	Last year's Dallas champion and the 1998 Avon Running National Champion, Jody Hawkins, huddled for warmth waiting to welcome the 5K Walk/Fun Run participants.	An enthusiastic group awaits the start of the 5K event.

Fox 5 News anchor Clarice Tinsley welcomes the 5K'ers before joining in the crowd to participate.	Avon Running National Champion Jody Hawkins skillfully handled two kids (one behind, one under sweatshirt) and microphone with opening remarks at the Dallas 5K start.	And the runners and walkers take off on their 5K jaunt through the streets of Dallas.

Walkers and runners happily stepped out in Dallas.	The host club, Cross Country Club of Dallas, selected their handsomest members for the tuxedo bricade to hand out medals at the finish.	Catriona Dowling of Boulder became our first master to win an Avon Running event outright.

Happy Avon Representatives Maria Guynes (#8271)and Maria Rodriquez (#8276) victoriously approach the finish of the Dallas 5K event.	Over 50 girls start the inaugural Avon Girl Power! Mile, a new addition to the Avon program in partnership with the US Department of Health and Human Services.
